CrunchBang
From LXDE.org
CrunchBang Linux uses the Openbox window manager, with some additional features to make it easier to use. So it already shares the window manager of LXDE and some other packages.
The upcoming CrunchBang 10 "Statler" is based on Debian Testing (rather than Ubuntu). It is currently in Alpha 2, but is reported to be stable, and receiving positive reviews in the http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/ [CrunchBang forums].
[edit] Installing LXDE - up to version 9.10
Some users report this as buggy, which seems to be common with Ubuntu-based distributions. (This raises hopes that the new Debian-based CrunchBang will work better.)
Simply go to Synaptic Package Manager and search for LXDE.
Or from the command line
sudo aptitude install lxde

[edit] Installing LXDE in 10 "Statler" (Debian-based)
Although still in alpha 2 release, it's getting great feedback in the forums as very stable and fast, with only a few bugs to be worked out (e.g. keyboard map reverts to default for each new login; no hibernate). The Debian installer can be slightly confusing, but the distro itself isn't hard (as long as you know to use super+space to get the menu, or right-click desktop - shortcuts are written on the desktop!)
Openbox and XFCE versions are offered, tweaked to be similar. When the cb-welcome script runs on startup, it offers to install "multi-session" to give a choice of running either, in the same setup.
To add LXDE: Install the package "lxde" with synaptic or apt-get.
See review here: http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/post/66392/#p66392 - LXDE appears to be working.
One comment from the forum: "I also recommend a simple installation of the missing parts of LXDE. Just have an apt-get install lxde, write down the relevant missing packages and install them without pulling the whole package."
If you want to have the option of running regular Crunchbang (choose session > Openbox at login), you may need to comment out the lxsession line near the start of ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh
