Talk:How to take screenshots

In the file ~/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml the command below lets you take screenshots in LXDE. If the command is not avaliable just copy-paste the code below in the existing lxde-rc.xml file between the other keybind secions (mind opening and closing tags however):

   <keybind key="Print">
     <action name="Execute">
      <execute>scrot -e 'mv $f ~/screenshots/'</execute>
     </action>
   </keybind>

The script activates the Scrot screen capture utility. A .png screenshot is placed in the users home directory. When a folder named 'screenshot' is avaliable it will be placed in there. When you alter the directory in the code above the screenshot is pasted wherever you point out.

The screenshot is named with a date-time_dimensions_scrot.png label.

Scrot can be installed with Add/Remove Software menu or in LXTerminal as root with

   $ su -
   Password:
   # yum install -y scrot

The -y option answers YES on all questions during the installation process.

Taking a screenshot works properly with only push print (PrtSc) key.
